Zimbabwe A beat Pakistan Shaheens in first one-day

Pacer Tendai Chatara was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe A after bagging a five-wicket haul

Ryan Burl and Clive Madande partnered strongly - Zimbabwe Cricket

Zimbabwe A defeated Pakistan Shaheens by 24 runs during the first one-day of the six-match series in Harare on Wednesday. 

Chasing a target of 235 runs, Pakistan Shaheens were dismissed for 210 in 47 overs.  

Mubasir Khan was the highest run-scorer for Pakistan with 49 runs in 68 balls, with the help of five fours.  

Meanwhile, Haseebullah Khan and Kamran Ghulam added 45 and 42 runs, respectively. 

Pacer Tendai Chatara was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe A after bagging a five-wicket haul. He conceded only 37 runs in nine overs.

Skipper Wellington Masakadza also impressed with figures of 3-32 in 10 overs. 

Earlier, Ryan Burl was on song with his solid fighting knock as Zimbabwe A managed to put up a good total against Pakistan Shaheens.

Zimbabwe A were suffering at 64-5 as Shaheens' bowlers provided a strong start to their team. Aamer Jamal led the bowling attack from the front as he picked three wickets to dent the hosts. 

Jamal bagged Craig Ervine (10), Wessly Madhevere (14), and Sean Williams (20) in quick successions. 

Shahnawaz Dahani and Mir Hamza bagged openers quickly to set the tone for Shaheens. 

However, Burl and Clive Madande partnered strongly for the sixth wicket, putting up 90 runs together. Burl scored 69 off 68 balls including six boundaries and two sixes. Madande contributed 34 off 55 including three boundaries. 

Jamal bagged four wickets, Hamza took three wickets while Dahani managed two scalps. Mehran Mumtaz also took a wicket.
